Alena Florie was born in Poughkeepsie, New York and grew up in the small town of Tarpon Springs, Florida where her family moved when she was 3 years old. She first discovered her passion for photography in high school when she signed up to take creative photography courses. With her first camera, a Minolta x-700, she learned the basics of film and darkroom techniques. From there, she decided to further her photography knowledge and make it a career.
She received an Associate’s Degree in Digital Photography in 2006. Since then she has worked for several photography companies and studios as well as working freelance.
She has also been a contributor to magazines such as MF Magazine and In Demand Online as well as worked as official photographer for the Dunedin Highland Games.
Alena is currently located in Seattle, Washington with her boyfriend Lucas and dog Dexter.
